Mother's Day Purse Card

Here is a cute purse card I made following a tutorial I found.



I used a punch to cut a pattern on the front flap.

You'll note that the sides are cut out and small accordian-folded pieces are inserted for a more dramatic effect.

As you can see, I used rhinestones to bling up the purse, front & back.

I put a small ribbon flower in the center of the front flap.

Here is my finished creation. I used some silver braided ribbon for the purse handle. I also took a plain pink notebook pad (as shown on the right), blinged it up and placed it inside the purse as an added surprise.

Sympathy Card

The sad part of making your own cards is, when a friend or loved one passes away. I find I have to shift gears and make something appropriate for the occasion. While most cards are bright and up-beat, and filled with flowers and glitter and such, it's hard for me to make a plain card that expresses feelings of sadness. So, here is what I came up with.








I embossed a piece of white 4¼" x 5¾"cardstock (which I purchased on sale at Joann's craft store) with the Cuttlebug A2 Journaling Card.



I stamped the upper portion with a PSX rubber stamp (Personal Stamp Exchange) F-1234 sentiment.

 Next, I cut out some flowers on a left over piece of metallic carsdstock using the Tim Holtz Tattered Flower Garland Sizzlits decorative strip die, curling them slightly with an old pencil and layered one to adhere next to the sentiment at the top. I finished the center of each flower with a tiny pearl.








I then took a piece of black cardstock for the base of my card, and cut it ¼ inch larger than my white piece (approximately 9"x6"). I adhered the finished white piece to the front. I then cut another piece of white cardstock to fit on the inside of the card (approximately 8½" x 5¾").






I stamped the inside of the card (on the left) with a Craft Smart rubber stamp and adhered a layered flower in the center.












This is a view of the inside of the finished card.
My card is now ready to write a personal note.

 For another finishing touch, I made my own envelope, (since this card is slightly larger than an A2 size).

I used my newly purchased Envelope Punch Board from WeRMemoryKeepers (from HSN) to make a 4 x 6" (A6) envelope to fit the card. This envelope maker is so easy to use. It makes the perfect envelope every time! :D
